Working on the burial database
One of the main tasks of the project is to develop a database of the Saqqara burials. With the number of excavated burials growing year by year, it is important that all relevant information is put together in an organised, easily searchable, and accessible format. It has certainly been a challenging task to design a database with so many important elements and multidisciplinary data that need to be included. The original design prepared by Iwona has been consulted with the team members and put into test as soon as the first model was created by a wonderful team of specialists from the Digital Competences Centre, University of Warsaw.
For the past several months, we have been preoccupied with database entries and dealing with any curveballs thrown at us by burial data. All this time, Agnieszka has been working hard digging through copious archaeological data concerning hundreds of burials. The database is certainly shaping up nicely and we will continue to fill it up in the months to come.
